We are now hiring for our September Academy and are looking to recruit a diverse cohort of people with a mixture of skills and backgrounds. Traditionally, our September Academy has focused on University leavers, and we still want to attract post-graduates, but we also want to open the opportunities up to career changers and tech returners. We aim to unlock your potential as technologists, software engineers and consultants, and support the ongoing success and growth of Infinity Works at the same time.
I’m a university graduate, do I need a certain degree?
No, we welcome applications from any degree background. While we do get a lot of applications from Computer Science and STEM degrees this certainly isn’t a prerequisite. Many degrees help students gain exposure to technology and open up an interest in how software can help deliver value. We also find many degrees help people gain transferable skills such as the ability to research, learn and reflect, and help develop clear logical problem solving techniques.
What do you mean by career changers and tech returners?
We’re also interested in receiving applications from those from non-degree backgrounds, or who may have had a career since leaving university in the past. By career changers, we mean people who are currently working within a non-tech industry and have either taught themselves how to code, or have undertaken training in programming, with the aim of emerging into the world of tech as their new career path. By tech returners, we mean people who might have worked in a variety of roles within the tech industry previously, and took a break of 1+ years, and would like to return to tech as a software engineer / consultant.
How do I know if it’s the right programme for me?
First and foremost you should be excited about starting a career in tech! Our Academy is designed for those who feel creating software for a living and helping others make the best use of technology is what they want to do with their career. This is what we’ll focus on with our assessment process and we’ll be looking for people who can demonstrate their interest and enjoyment in writing code, even if this is something you’ve come to recently.
